Overview
The Senior Electrical Supervisor will be responsible for supervising and supporting electrical installation teams across domestic and commercial EV charging projects. The role will involve carrying out installations, testing and inspection, quality control audits, technical support, site surveys and ensuring all work is completed safely and in compliance with current regulations and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, service and maintain EV charging equipment at domestic and commercial properties.
- Supervise and support installation engineers on-site and remotely.
- Carry out electrical testing, inspection and certification of completed works.
- Ensure all works comply with BS7671, IET Code of Practice for EV Charging Equipment, OZEV requirements and company procedures.
- Conduct site surveys, technical assessments and conveyance reviews where required.
- Carry out quality control checks and site audits on completed installations.
- Diagnose electrical faults and provide effective technical solutions.
- Ensure safe working practices are followed at all times.
- Complete all required certification, job documentation, photographs and reporting accurately.
- Liaise with customers professionally and deliver exceptional on-site customer service.
- Support training and mentoring of junior engineers and subcontractors.
- Assist with DNO applications and technical queries where required.
- Work closely with the operations and scheduling teams to ensure projects are delivered efficiently.
- Use hand tools, power tools and testing equipment safely and effectively.
- Maintain company standards for workmanship, communication and customer experience.
- Optional Saturday work available.
Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent.
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (BS7671).
- 2391 or 2392 Inspection & Testing qualification.
- Proven experience as an Electrician or Electrical Supervisor.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, wiring and circuitry.
- Experience installing EV chargers across multiple manufacturers.
- Ability to complete electrical testing and certification independently.
- Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Desirable
- Solar PV installation experience.
- Battery storage installation experience.
- OZEV installer experience.
- Experience with commercial EV infrastructure projects.
- Experience using certification and job management software systems.
- Experience using SafetyCulture or similar safety audit and compliance software.
- ECS Gold Card.
- Experience using ServiceM8 or similar job management systems.
