Solar Grid Connection Manager

We are seeking an experienced Solar Grid Connection Manager to support the delivery of photovoltaic projects by ensuring timely, compliant, and cost-effective grid connection solutions. This role is suited to professionals with strong technical expertise in medium- and high-voltage electrical systems and experience interfacing with grid operators.

The position focuses on managing grid-connection activities across the full project lifecycle, from early development through construction, commissioning, and operational support.

Role overview

• Ownership of grid connection strategy and execution for solar PV projects
• Coordination of MV and HV electrical scopes related to grid connection
• Technical interface with grid operators, internal teams, and external partners
• Balance of cost, schedule, quality, and regulatory compliance

Key responsibilities

Grid connection & electrical scope

• Define and manage grid connection solutions in alignment with project design
• Act as technical reference for grid code compliance and electrical specifications
• Lead or support commissioning activities related to grid connection
• Monitor grid operator processes, timelines, and associated costs

MV / HV engineering & coordination

• Oversee MV design and its integration with PV plant design
• Support procurement activities, including RFQs and technical review of supplier offers
• Coordinate external engineering support and system integrators where required
• Participate in quality audits and continuous improvement initiatives

Stakeholder & interface management

• Manage technical relationships with DSOs, TSOs, and other grid stakeholders
• Support development teams in assessing grid feasibility, costs, and risks
• Collaborate with internal engineering, construction, quality, and O&M teams

Project & process support

• Contribute to grid connection planning, budgeting, and cost monitoring
• Support construction activities on electrical topics
• Provide operational support post-commissioning when required
• Prepare reporting and support internal tools and process improvements

Required experience & qualifications

• Engineering degree with specialization in electrical engineering
• Experience in grid connection, MV/HV design, or electrical infrastructure projects
• Familiarity with grid operator processes and regulatory environments
• Ability to manage technical topics while coordinating multiple stakeholders
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Autonomous working style with a pragmatic, solution-oriented approach
• Professional working proficiency in English
• Proficiency in an additional European language (e.g. Italian) considered an advantage
